From the Journal of Sol Arcanus: “Home on the Range”

The Breakfast System is a stellation transmitting “absence,” “division,” “distance,” “space” and “nothingness.” The Breakfast System implies all of these things, but its fundamental nature is inherently beyond all of them, even as it invites itself to be pursued and organized. It streams in from a point beyond language, then comes to live inside of it, but its essential being is never completed or captured thereby. It overflows, as ‘Being’ or ‘Emptiness’ overflows all categories, territories.

For us, Space is the category of lostness. First, the concept of space is lost in the sense that it is banished to the realm of interpretation by comparison. Space is what is not there. Compared to what is, it is the not-that. It is rationalized or articulated as absence, grounded in its meaning as an opposite quality to the presence of objects, their ‘hereness-not-thereness.’ Space is the lostness that prevails. In such a view, our view, home and familiarity are held within as a continuity of the names and identities in opposition to which we define this lostness.

But for the Breakfastians, who live in that lostness, it has a radically different aspect.

They call it home.
